Perpetual Learning

Dandee pointed me toward BYU's FREE independent study courses.

On my list:

Helping Children love your Family History
Building a Functional Family
Developing Self Reliant People
Planning and Preparing your Garden
Citizen's Guide to American Politics
Organ Performance
Student Finance
Self Discipline (!!!!)
Temples Past and Present
Purposes of General Conference
The Writings of John: epistles and revelations

Oh, and LOTS more. I'd better be realistic and tackle one at a time. I expect I need to start with self-discipline!

Flowering Branches

Is Winter dragging on a little too long in your corner? It is in mine. My latest coping mechanism is forcing flowering branches, via this tutorial from my friend Jennie at Straight from the Garden. It is saving the day!

Blanket Forts

How cool is this article on the fine art of blanket-fort-building?

lemonade

For me, nothing embodies summer more than homemade lemonade. This lemon juicer has been my best friend lately, and the best part is that I've trained my preschooler to do all the squeezing!

Layer Cake Shop

Speaking of parties, Layer Cake Shop recently opened with a site-load of perfect baking accoutrements. They have a sweet "ideas" feature coming soon!

Marry go Round

Everybody loves Snippet and Ink.
Who needs a wedding in their future to appreciate the artistry of the inspiration board?
This is my favorite yet.

nothing elegant

This String Spool Set has me longing for a less-chaotic place to craft. I love the ikebana scissors!

Geneartogy

With my recent inclination to love all things geneology-chart-ish, the new Geneartogy charts featured on Design Mom were the bees knees to me.

3/50

The 3/50 project has me all kinds of intrigued. If only I had $50 in discretionary funds in a year. Tucking this one away for my having-an-income future.

Art Projects for Kids

As a mom who both wants to instill a creative streak in her kids and keep her sanity, I'm loving the ideas at Art Projects for Kids. It's like a never ending art-curriculum so that your kids can be creative even if you don't have an endless supply of creativity yourself.

authentic

Really cool reproduction light fixtures and hardware at Rejuvenation.
